I had a pretty good stay at Mercure Zürich City overall. The hotel's location is super convenient, being close to the train station, but the surrounding area felt a bit empty, especially on weekends. The rooms were spacious and clean, though I wish they had included a kettle. The staff were friendly and really helpful, adding a nice touch to my trip.

Rooms
8.0
The rooms were modern, spacious, and exceptionally clean, which I really appreciated. The bed felt super comfortable, making it easy to unwind. However, I did miss having a kettle in the room to make a quick cup of tea.
Service
9.0
The staff were really welcoming and made me feel comfortable. They even allowed me a late check-out, which was a nice bonus for my travel schedule.
Location
7.0
While the hotel is close to the train station, making it easy for trips into the city center, the surrounding industrial area felt a bit deserted during my stay. It wasn't ideal for walking around or finding local spots.
Dining
8.0
I enjoyed the breakfast service, which had a good variety of options. However, I wish they offered hot drinks in the room instead of just a card for a drink from the lobby.
Facilities
7.0
The wellness facilities were nice, although I didn't get to use them as much as I wanted. The mini-market was super handy for snacks if you needed something quick.

5.0/10

My stay at Mercure Zuerich City had both positive aspects and several shortcomings. The hotel is conveniently located near the train station, making it easy to travel to Zurich's city center. The breakfast was another highlight, offering a great variety of items. However, the staff's service was quite disappointing, and I felt the room amenities could use improvement, including bathroom supplies and storage options.

Rooms
5.0
The room was clean, but it was quite basic for a four-star hotel. There were no telephones, storage was minimal, and towels were inconveniently placed in a cupboard instead of the bathroom.
Service
5.0
The front desk staff seemed robotic and uninviting, lacking warmth during check-in and check-out. I experienced a rude interaction during check-in, which detracted from my overall impression.
Location
8.0
The location is excellent as it is right next to the train station, making it easy to reach the city center within minutes.
Dining
8.0
Breakfast was a strong point, featuring a good selection of items and friendly staff service in the restaurant.
Facilities
5.0
The facilities seemed adequate, with a relaxing environment, but I expected more amenities in the rooms, especially for a business traveler.

6.2/10

My stay at Mercure Zurich City was a mixed bag. The location was convenient, just a short walk to the train station, making it easy to reach the city center. However, I found the service lacking. particularly during check-in, where I faced rude behavior from a staff member. The rooms were clean yet basic, with some essential amenities missing, which detracted from my overall comfort.

Rooms
6.0
The room was clean but quite basic. I missed having tea/coffee facilities and the TV only had German channels, but it was functional for my needs.
Service
5.0
I had a frustrating experience during check-in, where one staff member was impolite and unhelpful. Thankfully, others were friendly, but it left a negative impression on my visit.
Location
6.0
The location is pretty good. just a 5-minute walk to Altstetten station, which connects easily to Zurich HB. However, it takes around 20 minutes by tram to reach the city center.
Dining
6.0
Breakfast was decent, but limited in options. I appreciated the cleanliness and the positive attitude of the dining staff, which made the meal more enjoyable.
Facilities
5.0
The amenities were lacking. there was no air conditioning during peak summer, which made it uncomfortable, and I had trouble communicating with the reception since there was no phone in the room.

7.0/10

My stay at the Mercure Zurich City was a mixed bag. While the breakfast was quite good with a variety of options, the lack of basic amenities like an electric kettle and intercom made my experience less enjoyable. The room was small, lacking a view, and the service was hit or miss, particularly at check-in. Overall, I'd rate it a 4.

Rooms
5.0
The room I stayed in was on the smaller side, and it didn't have any views to offer, which I found disappointing. Additionally, the absence of an intercom was inconvenient.
Service
5.0
The service varied significantly. While Kris at the reception was helpful, I encountered rudeness from another staff member during check-in that took away from the overall experience.
Location
5.0
The hotel is a 5-7 minute walk from the main city center, but it takes around 20 minutes by tram to reach the heart of Zurich, which was a bit frustrating for me.
Dining
5.0
Breakfast was great with a good selection, but the ala-carte menu was limited. I appreciated the homemade yogurt served.
Facilities
5.0
I enjoyed the spa facilities, especially the saunas, which were a nice touch after walking around. However, the absence of room service and the need to get hot water from downstairs was inconvenient.

My stay at Mercure Zürich City had its ups and downs. On one hand, the location is super convenient being so close to the Alstetten train station, which made traveling into Zurich central a breeze. However, I was really disappointed by the lack of basic amenities in the room, like a kettle or coffee, and the bathroom design was quite awkward. Overall, it felt like for what I paid, I didn't get a lot in terms of comfort and service.

Rooms
5.0
The room was decent size but not as spacious as I expected. The design could use some improvement, especially the awkward bathroom setup.
Service
5.0
The staff was hit or miss – while some were helpful, I had a frustrating experience at check-in with an unprofessional receptionist. That really put a damper on my stay.
Location
7.0
The hotel location is excellent for catching trains to Zurich, just a 7-minute ride. However, there aren't many dining options nearby.
Dining
6.0
The restaurant's menu was limited but decent. Meals were a bit pricey, typical for Switzerland, but the food was good overall.
Facilities
5.0
They didn't provide the usual amenities like a fridge or phone in the room, which was inconvenient. I also noticed they don’t clean the rooms daily unless requested, which felt a bit off.
